WILDERNESS TOURS AND THE OTTAWA RIVER
Starting with the Bus Eater Rodeo in May of 2006, this promises to be one exiciting year for the Wilderness Tours and the Ottawa River. Named after the Lorne Islands, the Lorne Rapids is a destination in itself. High water introduces the world famous Bus Eater. From the air the Bus Eater looks like a giant mouth smiliing after devouring paddlers. Even the entrance is exciting with a sling shot with a ski rope. River left is Mini Bus and river right is Big Bus. No you don’t have the option of doing both - its one or the other depending on water levels. Spectators have a wonderful view from either side.

As the water drops our local whale, Moby Dick rears out of the water. When Moby Dick surfaces all the water is forced down river right creating the equally famous Garberator wave. Garb is probably the world’s most perfect wave. You can every kind of trick, get big air and the moving sidewalk takes you right back to the start. For the spectators, if you are any closer, you’ll be sitting on the overthruster.

BLACK RIVER AND BLACKWATER DEVELOPMENTS

ROCK ISLAND AND JACKSON KAYAK
We’ll let EJ describe this jewel but this writer will attest to one of the prettiest river scenes you will see anywhere!
