 | SEPTEMBER 16 2006 | | | Day 2 of Qualifying at Rock Island Over
Qualifying Day 2 at Rock Island turned out to be a battle of the bulges. Avoiding the bulge that sometimes comes through the hole on the Caney Fork was the name of the game today. There were some big upsets today as big names didn’t make the cut.
What a day. This hole at Rock Island is dropping some huge names from semi finals tomorrow. It’s big, trashy and hard to set up but when moves go big they go huge. All the competitors and spectators are heading to the Jackson Kayak factory for the “losers party” so I’ll let the images and points standings speak for themselves.

| NEWS | | The first ever World Cup is soon to be a reality!
One of the requirements for Olympic status is a World Championship (which we have every 2 years) and another major event (preferably a World Cup) held every year in between. Our sport now has a World Championship (May 2007 on the Ottawa) and a World Cup. Olympic status also requires participation of at least 50 countries. Do your part by encouraging your international paddling friends to put the Ottawa on their schedule.
