Warm up day was today for everyone. 45 minutes of practice water was all that came through from the drought ridden Caney Fork River. The dam released much needed water just for this event. Many thanks go out to the hydro company for accommodating this World Cup event.
The junior men were the only ones to go today. This field of Jr’s would be slashed down from 15 to 5. With so little practice time on the wave it was anyone’s day. Sam Sutton from NZ had some big moves which proved his consistent paddle all series would put him in one of the top spots.
Local favorite Dane Jackson showed why this is his back yard. With hugh air screws and McNasty’s Dane was happy to be back in his home hole. Nick Troutman enjoyed the Rock Island hole, “it reminds me of left side on the Ottawa.” This similarity to his home hole took Nick into the first place position after qualifying.

| NEWS | | The first ever World Cup is soon to be a reality!
One of the requirements for Olympic status is a World Championship (which we have every 2 years) and another major event (preferably a World Cup) held every year in between. Our sport now has a World Championship (May 2007 on the Ottawa) and a World Cup. Olympic status also requires participation of at least 50 countries. Do your part by encouraging your international paddling friends to put the Ottawa on their schedule.
